About Rick
Rick Snyder’s unique skill set and broad coaching background pulls from a variety of disciplines, which translates into powerful and effective results. He received his bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology from the University of Washington and his M.A. in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University.
He was trained by the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and has been coaching since 2004. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, and currently maintains his private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in the state of California. While coaching is not psychotherapy, the advantage of Rick’s background allows him to bring the psychological piece into the coaching practice, which makes for a much more effective relationship on helping people achieve results.
Rick also offers his work in martial arts (Tai Chi, Chi Gong, Tae Kwan Do), meditation and yoga in the service of helping people achieve their desired goals. Rick studied under a Chi Kung master in Nepal and incorporates these disciplines into the coaching relationship as well.
In addition to his private practice, Rick currently is a Course Instructor and Coach for the Authentic Man Program, an organization dedicated to supporting men in relating more authentically in their lives. Rick is also one of the primary Course Instructors for The Transformational Coaching and Leadership Training program (TCLT). This year-long program, based in San Francisco, is dedicated to helping coaches sharpen their skills and inspire their coaching to a whole new level. Fully alive and on purpose, Rick leads presentations and trainings at several companies in the fields of coaching, facilitation, and psychology. He also is a mentor and coach for Vive! He brings an open-hearted, engaging, warm and witty style to his coaching along with compassion, presence, and awareness.
